“The athletes chosen to play in this game represent some of the best in the area in high school football,” said Leigh Ann Gaines, an athletic trainer at SportsPlus who helps coordinate the event. “This is one of our biggest events of the year and a great way to end football season.”

The game was created in 2012 to provide a game to showcase some of the football talent in rural West Tennessee. A number of athletes who have played in the game over the years have gone on to play college football because of their performance in practice and the game itself caused college scouts to take notice.

Players are invited to a banquet at Liberty Tech on Monday night, where the coaching staffs will draft their teams. They will practice throughout the week and stay in a hotel in Jackson for a couple of nights while also taking part in community service projects leading up to the game.
