Teacher
After graduating from Tullahoma High School in 2012, I attended Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, TN. I graduated from TTU in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and have been teaching for Humboldt City Schools ever since!
I have been teaching at HJSHS since 2016. For the past four years, I have taught all things music, but my primary passion is band. I do enjjoy teaching General Music classes because it gives me the opportunity to meet many of our awesome students who participate in school activities outside of music.
After living in Humboldt for four years, I moved to a fixer-upper home in Milan this summer where I live with my German Shepherd, Wesley. I have a boyfriend named Mark who enjoys supporting the Humboldt band and athletics whenever possible, and before the world fell into apocalyptic pandemic times, we could frequently be found hanging out with our good friends Heather and John Glenn-Hoekstra (whose names you might be familiar with if you’ve kept up with the band the past few years).
When not at school or band events I enjoy hanging out with my couch and watching the latest Netflix hits. You can occasionally find me at The Coffee Shop playing games or attempting to be healthy by walking or riding my bike around town. I also enjoy jamming to just about any genre of music and going on adventures to different sites and events around Tennessee.
