After teaching multiple grade levels over eleven years, I made the transition to eighth grade math teacher at Humboldt Jr/Sr High School. I am entering my sixth year with Humboldt City Schools. I also coach girls volleyball and basketball.
My teaching career began at H. W. Byars High School, where I served as a substitute. I then worked as a middle school advisor at Jackson Middle School through the Educational Talent Search Program at Lane College. ETS is division of the TRIO Programs, a federally funded educational program that works with students to acheive success and prepare for the college of their choice. In 2004, I left Lane College to began working as a fifth grade teacher at Nova Elementary School in Jackson, TN. Currently, I am the Head Girls Volleyball and Basketball Coach and Instructional Coach at HJSHS.
My son, Anthony, is a 2019 graduate of Humboldt High School.
My daughter, Tehya, is a student at East Elementary.
When I am away from the classroom, I enjoy writing poetry, basketball, and spending time with family.
