Attended several Holocaust Conferences presented by the Tennessee Holocaust Commission on survivors of Auschwitz II-Birkenau, Sobibor, Dachau.

Study the Holocaust abroad in different countries in Europe (Poland, Czech Republic, East Germany).

Visited the death camps of Poland (Treblinka and it was one of the three forgotten death camps of occupied Eastern Poland, Auschwitz I, and Auschwitz II-Birkenau).

Visited the propaganda camp of the Holocaust located in the Czech Republic (Terezin, but the Germans called it Theresienstadt).

Visited and studied in synagogues in Warsaw and Krackow, Poland.  Visited and studied in a synagogue in Prague, Czech Republic.  

Visited and studied the salt mines of Wieliczka.  The salt mines were also used during the Holocaust by the Germans to make the Jews work.

I have also visited (with another tour) Austria, Southern Germany, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, France, England.

I have traveled a lot around the United States.

I have traveled to Canada, and Mexico.

I have done professional development for better reading skills at UT Martin.  I have attended professional development on Women’s Suffrage (dealing with the 19^th Amendament in Tennessee).  I have attended a poverty simulation training at UT Martin while working toward my teaching license.

I am married to my high school sweetheart, and we have been together for 28 years.  We dated for 9 years and received our college educations before we married.  We have been married for 19 years, and we got married in June 2001.

We have two sons.  One is 13 years old, and the youngest is 8 years old.

They attend school at JCS.

We have 3 inside dogs (Riley he is a full blooded lab, Sara she is lab/pit bull mix, Wade is a hound dog/lab mix), three cats (Scooby, Shaggy, and Daphne), and a Beta fish.

I mainly have two hobbies: 

     1. I officiate high school baseball, football, and basketball for nearly thirty years.  I also umpire college baseball, and I have been doing that for over twenty years.

     2. I enjoy reading about history, World War II (European theater, Holocaust).  I also enjoy reading and studying about the Cold War, Civil Rights, and the Vietnam War.

​     3. When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, keeping my yard looking good, and showing my sons how to do things in life to help them out.
